Who we are
The High Performance Centre for Terahertz Sensor Technology was founded by the Fraunhofer Institutes FHR (Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques, Wachtberg) and IMS (Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems, Duisburg) in order to bring new technologies in this highly attractive frequency range from the laboratory into application.
The Fraunhofer IMS specialises in photonic research, while the FHR covers the upper frequency range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
We pool our know-how and resources in the fields of radar and photonics in one office as a one-stop-shop and point of contact for industry. We utilise years of experience from customer practice and research in the field of communication and sensor technology at the limits of what is possible.
The locations in Bochum and Duisburg enable close networking with partners from universities and industry.
